Art and Archeology—A Cravens Collection Museum Education Outreach Program
A recently established partnership with Arts Partners for Learning, an organization that provides grant funding to support school and cultural organization collaborations, has made possible the first implementation of our new program Art and Archeology—A Cravens Collection Museum Education Outreach Program. The program activities accommodate middle school level students, however program content can be adapted for primary and high school students. The premise of the program is to use fine art applications derived from artworks in the permanent collection as it relates to objects located in the Cravens World permanent installation. The artworks and objects are primary resources that offer educators opportunities to infuse facets of object-based learning into their curriculum. Additionally, a unique aspect of our program includes a rare opportunity for students to examine and handle original objects selected from the Cravens collection, an experience that cannot be recreated in the classroom environment.
