Simon Ungers: Red Vertical

Jan 20 - Jul 31 1995

UB Art Gallery

Designed specifically for the Lightwell Gallery, Simon Ungers’s thirty-six foot red column utilizes the unique features of the gallery as it seems to hover weightlessly between the floor and ceiling. Red Vertical seems to defy gravity to allude to the concept of timelessness.

Unger was born in 1957 in Cologne, Germany. He received his BA in Architecture from Cornell University in 1980.

Curated by Vesela Sretenovic.
