Lisa Hein

Sep 25 - Nov 7 1997

UB Art Gallery

Lisa Hein’s initially humorous Rube Goldberg-like contraptions, fashioned out of everyday objects such as lamps, fans and cardboard boxes, conflate the big picture—the ordering principles of the universe—with a comparatively disordered personal side. The works in this exhibition, done over a five-year period, can be seen as goofy mechanical conglomerations.
