Adam Cvijanovic: Niagara Falls
Mar 23 - Jul 29 2006
UB Art Gallery
Installed on walls that extend upwards thirty-five feet in the Lightwell Gallery, Cvijanovic’s floor-to-ceiling painting of Niagara Falls reflects on the romantic allure of a site that has drawn diverse spectators to view its vistas, from nineteenth-century painters of the American sublime to postwar honeymooners.
A self-taught painter born in Cambridge, MA, Cvijanovic has had solo shows at the UCLA Hammer Musuem, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and the Brockton Art Museum.
